What is MasqTap?
MasqTap is an AI-monitored social app for temporary 1-on-1 connections and short-term group events. It is designed around moments rather than permanent profiles.
Why doesn’t MasqTap require registration?
MasqTap is designed to let people connect without first creating a traditional account or providing a name, email address, phone number, or social-media profile.
Is MasqTap completely anonymous?
MasqTap is better described as semi-anonymous. Users can choose a nickname and avatar, but technical safeguards and AI-assisted moderation may still be used to operate the Service and reduce abuse. Anonymity does not remove responsibility for user behavior.
What are Jump & Catch?
Jump & Catch is MasqTap’s direct 1-on-1 connection. One person creates a temporary security code with Jump, and the other enters that code with Catch.
What is a Masquerade Ball?
A Masquerade Ball is a temporary group space. An organizer creates the Ball, selects the guest count, and distributes a unique security code to each guest. Guests join with the Ball name, their assigned code, a nickname, and an avatar.
What happens when a connection or Ball ends?
The connection closes and its conversation is designed to be removed from MasqTap’s temporary processing systems. The Service is not designed to provide permanent chat history.
Can deleted conversations be recovered?
Generally, no. MasqTap’s ephemeral design means that content is not intended to remain available after the connection ends. Users should not rely on MasqTap as permanent storage.
Does MasqTap collect personal information?
MasqTap does not require traditional registration information and is not designed around personal advertising profiles. Limited technical information may be processed to establish connections, maintain reliability, enforce age and safety rules, and reduce spam or abuse. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How does AI Safety Monitoring work?
AI-assisted systems may analyze text, audio, images, and video while content is being transmitted. The system may block content, end a session, or restrict access when it detects prohibited behavior. Automated systems are not perfect and may miss violations or occasionally block permitted content.
Are private conversations used to train AI?
MasqTap’s policy is that private conversation content is not retained for future model training. Processing is intended to occur in real time for delivery and safety moderation, as further explained in the Privacy Policy.
Can MasqTap connect people who do not already know each other?
Yes, provided they intentionally exchange or receive the security information needed to connect. Users should exercise caution, avoid sharing sensitive information, and follow the Community Guidelines whenever interacting with someone new.
Why is MasqTap limited to users aged 17 and older?
MasqTap permits semi-anonymous interaction and user-generated text, voice, photo, and video. The 17+ requirement supports the app’s safety model and intended audience. Anyone under 17 may not use the Service.
How is MasqTap different from traditional messaging apps?
Traditional messaging apps typically center on permanent accounts, contact lists, and stored conversation histories. MasqTap centers on temporary codes, specific moments, semi-anonymous participation, and connections that end.
Does MasqTap show advertising or sell personal data?
MasqTap is not designed around identity-based advertising or selling personal information. Any future business-model changes that affect privacy practices would be reflected in an updated Privacy Policy.
What should I do if someone behaves badly?
Leave or close the connection immediately. Do not continue engaging with threatening or abusive users. For emergencies or suspected criminal activity, contact the appropriate local authorities. You may also contact MasqTap at friend@masqtap.com.
